Customer surveys: make your questionnaire engaging

Tips: add variety to your customer survey

To reduce dropout rates and increase response rates, it is important to make the questionnaire engaging and varied. This does not mean that you need to add jokes here and there, but that you should vary all the elements of the customer questionnaire. This makes the survey more appealing and helps maintain participants’ concentration and interest. The more varied the questionnaire is, both visually and in terms of content, the fewer dropouts you are likely to see.

Example: If you would like customers to rate several products, it is better not to use a single monotonous matrix question. Instead, use several questions and, where appropriate, different question types.

Tip: Use media such as images or short introductory videos. Vary the order and format of your questions too. This makes the survey easier to complete. Participants are more likely to respond to a varied questionnaire than to a customer survey that presents ten multiple-choice questions in a row on a single page. A good survey tool should allow you to present the same questions in different ways.
