Adapt your customer survey to your corporate design

Customer survey design

The design of your customer survey is just as important as the design of your website, marketing materials or products. The same marketing guidelines apply. Customers need to recognise your brand and your company. You need to create a sense of familiarity. The customer survey is part of your corporate design (your company’s visual identity) and therefore part of your corporate identity. Design customisation features must be considered when choosing a survey tool.

What would happen if Deutsche Telekom presented a customer survey with a green background and blue text? Or if Deutsche Post conducted a survey with white text on a black background? Exactly. You should therefore use the same elements as in your office templates. At a minimum, the following should also appear in your survey to ensure recognition:

  • Logo
  • Typeface
  • Text colour
  • Background colour
  • Header and footer

Tip: Bear in mind that unusual typefaces may look very attractive in print but may not work online. If participants do not have the typeface installed, it will be replaced or, in the worst case, may not be displayed at all. Too many bright colours can also make a design feel restless.

As a rule, your customer survey will be on the right track if you use your corporate colours for the basic elements, such as the text colour and logo, or ask your PR or marketing department to do so.

An online customer survey offers far more design options than a paper questionnaire:

  1. You can customise not only background colours, but also mouse-over effects, progress-bar colours, shadows and more.

  2. You can use media – videos, music and animations.

  3. You can interact with participants and display images or videos based on their responses.

  4. The LamaPoll survey tool also gives you access to the CSS, making your customer surveys endlessly customisable.

Tip: Treat your customer survey like your website. Almost everything you can implement and display on your website can also be implemented and displayed in your customer questionnaire.
