TÜV Thüringen Akademie has been working successfully with LamaPoll since 2021. The support team deserves special mention: when we were systematically processing participant feedback as part of quality management, it was always on hand at short notice, easy to deal with and highly competent. Having compared providers, we find the value for money unbeatable, and we are highly satisfied with the results. The professional handling of data protection is also worth mentioning.

What is this template for?

The template is suitable for training providers, academies, organisations and other providers of seminars and professional development that want to collect structured feedback from participants. It can be used directly after an individual course or repeatedly as part of quality management.

The questionnaire shows how participants perceive the organisation, learning objectives, content, teaching and learning methods, group atmosphere, materials, technical facilities and trainer. Open questions also explore why expectations were not met and which practical improvements participants would suggest.

What does the questionnaire cover?

The template combines evaluations of the course and its framework with a detailed assessment of the trainer, perceived benefits and whether expectations were met. The actual topic areas are summarised below.

Organisation and course framework

Satisfaction with the organisation of the training course and its general framework.

Learning objectives and content

Clarity of the learning objectives and assessment of how the course content was structured.

Teaching methods and group atmosphere

Usefulness of individual and group exercises, self-study, excursions or role play, together with the atmosphere among participants.

Materials and technical facilities

Quantity, currency, clarity and relevance of the teaching and working materials, as well as the availability of computer workstations.

Trainer preparation and competence

The trainer’s preparation, subject expertise, clarity, ability to explain the content, opportunities for questions and friendliness.

Benefits, expectations and improvements

Perceived usefulness of the skills gained, whether expectations were met and open feedback on missing or improvable aspects.

Example questions from the template

The template combines agreement scales, five-point slider ratings, selection questions and open response fields. The following questions are taken from its main sections.

  • I was satisfied with the organisation of the training course.
  • The learning objectives of the training course were clearly stated.
  • I liked the way the content was structured.

From template to an effective course evaluation

The template takes you from adapting the questionnaire to the specific course through to inviting participants, evaluating results and improving future provision.

1. Adapt the questionnaire to the course and provider

Copy the template into your LamaPoll account and adapt the introduction, course title, learning objectives, teaching methods, materials, technical facilities and trainer to the specific course.

Also check whether the question about computer workstations is relevant. Where appropriate, standardise the response scales and separate multi-part open questions so responses are easier to interpret.

2. Invite participants to evaluate the course

Provide the questionnaire at the end of the seminar using a link or QR code, or send it by email shortly after the course. State the purpose, deadline and expected completion time.

Explain clearly whether the survey is anonymous, who can access the results and how open comments will be evaluated. Inviting participants promptly often improves participation and recall.

3. Evaluate results and improve future courses

Closed ratings reveal strengths and weaknesses in organisation, content, methods, materials and trainer performance. Open responses explain why expectations were not met and which aspects should be improved.

For recurring courses, compare results across different dates, prioritise the main areas for action and document the improvements implemented.

Why participant feedback on training matters

The survey creates a structured basis for quality management, trainer development and training provision that meets participants’ needs.

Improve course quality systematically

The results show which organisational and teaching aspects work well and where specific adjustments to content, methods or course conditions may be useful.

Support trainer development

Ratings of preparation, subject expertise, clarity and opportunities for questions provide a structured basis for feedback and trainer development.

Review benefits and expectations

Participants’ assessment of the benefits gained and whether expectations were met reveals whether the training achieved its intended purpose.

Adaptation, anonymity and data protection

Adapt the template to the specific course before use. Review the course title and learning objectives, teaching and learning methods, materials, technical facilities and response scales. Include the question about computer workstations only where it is genuinely relevant.

The statement that the survey is 100% anonymous should only be used where the settings, access rights and organisational process genuinely prevent responses from being linked to individuals. In small groups or where open comments are highly specific, participants may still be indirectly identifiable.

Explain the purpose, deadline, access to results and handling of open responses in advance. The template’s legal notice and privacy information must be replaced or reviewed by the responsible provider. The placeholder email address info@fortbildung.de at the end of the template must also be replaced or removed.
