Doodle and data protection
Doodle is based outside the European Union, and any disclosure of personal data to Doodle must therefore be assessed as a transfer to an organisation outside the European Union under Section 20(2) and (3) LDSG. Your data protection officer should check whether Doodle is actually necessary and whether a better survey tool could be used instead.

Risk of manipulation with Doodle
Voting entries from participants without their own account are unprotected in Doodle: any user who has the voting link can manipulate parameters to change any other user's entries. There is no permissions concept.

Unencrypted transmission in Doodle surveys
Doodle surveys were not SSL-encrypted in the free account, meaning the data was transmitted transparently. Personal data such as a participant's name was therefore not protected against unauthorised access (as at 2016).
Google advertising (AdSense) in Doodle surveys
Doodle also displays Google advertising. If you create a survey entitled “Food”, for example, a participant in Berlin sees restaurants from the region. What happens to the data, IP addresses and so on, and what Google does with them, is not transparently disclosed. LamaPoll, by contrast, does not collect IP addresses or other personal data, because our core business is not identification and advertising but privacy in online surveys.
